Functional Prototypes for Development
We use precise test setups to evaluate new functional concepts for our development projects. These functional prototypes are used during development to first test new and innovative features and then refine them further. Functional prototypes convey a product’s essential functional and characteristic properties; however, they are not design prototypes, which merely replicate the external appearance of the final product.
Prototypes for your Proof of Concept
Functional models are often extremely complex systems and correspond functionally and ergonomically to the eventual production product. By physically interacting with the functional model, the product’s user-friendliness, ergonomics, and functionality can be evaluated even during the development phase.
In consultation with our customers, such functional prototypes are simplified in less critical areas to reduce costs.

Prototypes
By combining function and design, we create prototypes that closely resemble the eventual production product in terms of both functionality and appearance. However, a prototype is still manufactured without production tooling, typically using machining or other forming processes. Of course, generic manufacturing processes are also employed in this process.
These highly detailed prototypes serve to realistically evaluate functionality, user-friendliness, material selection, and ergonomics before the start of series production. They are frequently used in initial sales presentations, while tools for series production are being manufactured at the same time. We produce prototypes as one-offs or in small batches of 20–30 units. High-quality prototypes play a key role in product design because they combine design quality, technical feasibility, and brand impact, enabling the customer to launch the product on the market even before mass production begins.
Our professionally equipped workshop enables us to manufacture such prototypes quickly and to perfection. We view the prototyping process as a crucial component of every product development cycle. For this reason, we place great emphasis on in-house prototyping.
