The difference to design development

In contrast to design development, design consulting does not yet result in design drafts or product concepts; however, it establishes a solid foundation for improving products and making them more successful.

For whom design consulting can be interesting

Design consultancy offers interested companies a cautious first step towards collaborating with a design studio or agency. Through this collaboration, both partners get to know each other’s expertise and potential, achieve initial results that can be applied within the company, and do so at a relatively low cost. Design consultancy can therefore be a first step towards long-term consultancy or the first step in a joint product development project. Design consultancy can be commissioned within a manageable budget – for example, on a daily basis – and utilised flexibly as required. A fixed monthly budget over a specific period is also possible, which the client can then draw upon as needed.

In addition, long-term consulting services can be provided to companies to help shape their strategic direction—in which case, design consulting becomes design strategy.
