Paper InfibraFiner

Industrial Design meets paper production

Clear lines combined with numerous technical advantages: the new InfibraFiner from Voith Paper for the preparation of paper fibers combines optimal user guidance with a new design.

The focus is on the specially designed and formally independent SmartLight. Placed at the front of the InfibraFiner, it is an eye-catcher, but above all a highly functional element. With its colored light segments, the SmartLight provides information on the current machine status, performance and maintenance status. This innovative interface intuitively communicates the most important status data of the conditioners working in parallel in long rows, even from a distance. In this way, malfunctions can be eliminated very quickly, saving time and downtime.

Industrial Design visualizes innovation

Compared with conventional refiners, the InfibraFiner is extremely energy-efficient and offers a 28 percent higher capacity. These special features are underlined by the industrial design, which focuses on its own modern design language. In fact, thanks to its compact design, calm lines and large, clean surfaces, the InfibraFiner stands out strongly from its complex and purely technically dominated surroundings.

High availability and user-friendlyness

The requirement for high availability of these machines, which are subject to enormous mechanical loads, is also reflected in the actual maintenance. All access points are extra easily accessible, electronic components are located in a specially protected control cabinet integrated into the machine.

Award winning design

Clean design faciliates cleaning

The smooth surfaces with their soft transitions are not only formally interesting, but also functional. After all, they make it much easier to clean the machine - and thus contribute to its longevity as well as its cost-effectiveness.

With the InfibraFiner, defortec can once again expand its award series.

The latest addition is the "Focus Silver" award presented by the Design Center Baden-Württemberg. The jury of experts particularly emphasized the absence of "additive cladding", as well as the "segmented status display placed around the central axis of the machine".

"We have developed a completely new refiner concept that clearly stands out in terms of both design and performance values. During development, we pursued the highest quality standards. In line with our "Papermaking Vision" design study, the design focused on an appealing appearance, optimized user interfaces and the implementation of a clean design. We are therefore delighted to have won the Baden-Württemberg International Design Award together with the defortec design agency."

Adrian Honig, Product Manager Voith Paper

The design study shows that even large-scale plants, whose appearance has so far been determined more by function, can gain noticeable added value through intelligent industrial design.
