MTS
construction equipment design for suction excavators of MTS
Named after the most feared predator of prehistoric times, the MTS T-Rex is the most powerful and performant family member of the MTS Dino suction evacuator series.
The focus: uncompromising performance and unmistakable brand identity.
This excavation behemoth comes into play, when sensitive cables, pipes or other vulnerable lines have to be exposed from soil and the prevention of damaging one of them is critical. Nowadays, countless cables run through the ground, from water and gas pipes to power supply and communication cables - damage to these cables during excavation work can have far-reaching consequences - and even lead to blackouts in entire areas. MTS offers its Dino series to avoid precisely this: Suction excavators that suck away the soil without making direct contact with it. The result is inconspicuous: no broken pipes, no severed cables.
The earthworks are almost minimally invasive: only as much earth is moved as is absolutely necessary, which increases efficiency on the construction site.

Maximum flexibility
The real highlight is the power arm at the rear of the vehicle, which can be moved from left to right and has a reach of up to 6,5m [21.3 ft], giving the machine operator maximum flexibility during excavation work.
The shifting unit of the power arm gives the operator up to 2,5m [8.2ft] more reach, and the working range can be extended by several meters by adding suction pipes to the suction nozzle.
The power arm, which can be moved hydraulically in up to seven axes, can be controlled precisely and supports accurate work during demanding excavation work.

Uncompromising performance
Uncompromising power, maximum performance and a high load capacity of up to 12m³ [423.8 ft³] of soil for long excavation work and maximum efficiency are the hallmarks of the MTS T-Rex. With a suction capacity of up to 40.000 m³/h [1.412.587,39 ft³] and a rotational speed of up to 4000 rpm, the two-stage radial blowers deliver the highest performance available on the market for suction excavators - while the units are quieter – compared to others with similar performance.
The vacuum-suctioned soil is conveyed through several flow- and noise-optimized filter stages into the 12m³ [423.8 ft³] container, which can be raised upwards using the tilt-up function and conveniently emptied into a dump truck for removal. Long suction times and maximum efficiency thanks to short emptying intervals characterize this high-performer.

Powerful design for heavy machinery
The high-performance design from defortec underlines the functional potential of this workhorse: the clear, dynamic lines
The deliberately created tension of the superstructure draws attention to the machine housing, in which the power unit delivers top performance - to the extent that the entire hydraulic circuit is kept at optimum temperature by three oil coolers.
The generous work lighting not only emphasizes the design of the vehicle, but also ensures optimum visibility in the dark. In general, the vehicle is equipped with comprehensive work lighting and interior lighting.
International world-premiere was at Bauma 2025 as highlight of this great team-work.
