professional trade show models for plant engineering

The Dieffenbacher Oscillating Screen is a pendant-mounted screening machine developed for screening dried chips in chipboard production. It performs a horizontal oscillating movement and has an inclination of 8° - allowing chips to be sorted effectively.

Measuring just under 3 m wide, over 6 m long, and over 2 m high, this ATEX-certified screening machine is a huge marvel of technology. Defortec, an industrial design agency based in the Stuttgart area, handled both the design development and the model construction of a precise presentation model for trade fairs on behalf of Dieffenbacher.

Engineering masterpiece

The focus of the development was on handling, service and ergonomics, in particular to facilitate screen changes and shorten maintenance processes - for minimum downtimes and maximum productivity.

The machine is suspended on steel cables, which effectively dampens vibrations.
An intelligent product design with low weight ensures less wear and a longer service life, and the machine is ATEX certified due to the high safety requirements.

Scale model for presentation purposes

For the presentation of the screening machine at trade fairs, congresses or for internal purposes, a precisely manufactured scale model was produced, which represents an accurate version of the original product and gives the specialist audience a detailed impression.

As an experienced agency for model making and prototyping, it was particularly important to us to highlight the central features, including the frame and the suspended construction as a key design feature. A cutaway in the discharge chute also allows for a clear visualization of how it works, while targeted insights into the interior reveal the structure of the screens and highlight important ergonomic aspects. The model thus offers a realistic and technically precise presentation of the screening machine and emphasizes its innovative product features.
