Dieffenbacher knife ring flaker MRZ 1500

The MRZ 1500 knife ring flaker from Dieffenbacher, based in Eppingen in Baden-Württemberg, impresses with its strong, individual and expressive design language, which consistently develops the corporate design of Dieffenbacher as one of the leading manufacturers of knife ring flakers.

Robustness and dynamics for new knife ring flaker

Machines of this type are used for chipping wood and recyclable wood waste and other recycled material. The material produced in this way is the core product in the chipboard production process chain.

The MAIER knife ring flaker (MRZ) from Dieffenbacher is a high-performance machine for the efficient production of quality chips for the wood-based materials industry. A central feature of the MRZ is the innovative FlowOptimizer, which enables a three-dimensional distribution of the material in the chipping chamber. This makes optimum use of the entire knife ring depth and circumference, resulting in a uniform chip quality with adjustable thicknesses from 0.3 mm.

The MRZ 1500 is characterized by energy-efficient chip production with a consumption of 12-20 kWh per tonne atro. Wear-protected and easily replaceable components ensure high machine availability thanks to the new industrial design. The optimized knife ring design with an adapted number of knives and free chip outlet channel helps to improve cutting conditions.

Systemic design

The intelligent transfer of the new Dieffenbacher system design puts the wood chipping process into focus. In this way, a skillful interplay of clear structures and a dynamic, trend-setting design was created. Further contents were the optimisation of the setting and maintenance processes, which led to a fundamental improvement in the handling of the product. The Knife Ring Flaker was awarded the focus open design prize in silver.
