Corporate Product Design for optical inspection systems
Following the successful development of Premon for Intravis GmbH, the SpotWatcher was redesigned as a further product as part of a comprehensive corporate product design initiative. The SpotWatcher is an high-end optical inspection system for plastic bottles and containers which, with the aid of complex camera and lighting systems, enables 100% inspection of containers ‘on the fly’, whilst they are moving at high speed in the production line. The following features can be inspected: the overall bottle geometry, fill level, filling medium, colour of the bottle and label, position and type of label, as well as other printed details. An ultra-fast and highly comprehensive inspection system for the production of bottle-based products with a capacity of up to 36,000 bottles per hour.
Modular Design
Modular Industrial design with specific requirements
The perfectly modularised housing system is available in several different configurations. All these variants are based on the same housing grid with module sizes of 500 and 800 mm. Closed or transparent front doors with invisibly integrated handles share many common components, thus ensuring cost-effective production. At the same time, SpotWatcher fits very well into the holistic Intravis design system. SpotWatcher is available within the same system in the Basic, Customised and Pharma variants. A unified system that meets a wide range of requirements and can be used in a hughe variety of applications. Maximum flexibility in applications thanks to intelligent industrial design.

The challenge of variable design and design-to-cost
The open support frame system can be moved along an existing production line at any time without having to open the line. Flexibly positionable strobe lights and high-resolution colour cameras inside must be easily accessible and also protected from external light. Nevertheless, visual inspection of the process from the outside may also be required. The flexible door system has a robust design featuring the ‘Slash’ motif typical of Intravis and consists of a highly dimensionally stable twin-sheet plastic deep-drawn component. These door elements can be fitted as solid panels or with a glass insert within the same system. Everything is produced within a defined grid, utilising a high number of common parts and thus enabling cost-effective manufacturing.
